3 Useful Pointers on How to Stop Hitting The Ball Fat - For Average Golfers

Hitting the ball fat in golf is one error that leads to a lot of problems when on top of the greens. This is primarily because of hitting behind the ball with your irons. It is more like hitting the ground and not the ball and the blame is placed on the golf swing. Do not make a scape goat out of other things that you think you have done wrong; it is always the player that commits the error and he has to know where the bad part of the move came and what has caused it. It is very important that the player knows the possibilities of the shot outcome and what he wants the shot to be and it is very vital to learn how to stop hitting the ball fat to achieve your dream of entering the upper crust of the golf elite.

Considered as one of the worst shots in the game, is the fat shot. Addressing the ball just a little distance from where you stand can make it so frustrating. Once you hit the grounds, your body would feel jarred with your hands, wrists, and body as a whole, aching. Looking at the appearance of the broken lawn can earn you the ire of the golf club management as well. So, now you know that it is not good to swing your club down on a steep plane.

It is much better if you are able to mark your ball by placing a tee from your golf ball estimating it at one inch outside from it. You will be able to see if you have hit the ground and in doing so, you would know that your ball is not headed to your desired target. Trying to swing the ball to the left is not a good idea. There are golfers that who think that by means of hitting the ball down, the tendency of the ball would be going up. This is a wrong estimate but if you can teach yourself to stop hitting the ball fat, things may turn out differently.

Most errors occur during address and it is imperative that the player maintains keeping the chin up in order to improve contact. Choosing a particular groove or dimple from a ball can improve focus. Bending forward 20 degrees from the hips with knees slightly on a bend is good while maintaining an almost straight back would do even better to promote clean contact. Focus on your arms and hands, swinging around your body and not the straight line up and down movement. You should learn how to feel your forearms rotating away from your ball and eventually on your through-swing.

Learning how to stop hitting the ball fat would make you avoid committing a steep fat type of swing. You need a flattened out swing if the divots are deep with the irons that you are using. This can also be done if you are taking divots with a driver. Flatten the shoulder turn to achieve the shallower plane and keep the right shoulder up and do not resort to a dip. These are the things that could enlighten you and help you avoid imminent fat shots.

Golf Tips for Better Driving

Are you happy with your drive shots and are they consistent and stay in play? If not, here are some golf tips for better driving that should help you solve your problems with your golf drive swing and stay on the fairway avoiding trees and obstacles.

Balance

Lack of balance is a common fault that many club golfers don't see as important so they rarely work on it. They are usually so engrossed in worrying about all the other aspects of the swing like head down, straight left arm and ball placement that they forget about balance. In actual fact balance is as important as all the other parts of the swing.

A smooth transfer of weight, with control, on to the left side helps you keep your balance in the hitting area. If golfers suffer from lack of balance it is usually at this stage of the swing - commonly caused by a frantic lunge at the ball from the top.

The follow though position is where you can spot the difference between good and bad balance. Swing too hard and you will swing yourself off your feet. Correct balance will help with your rhythm and timing and will also keep the club head on the correct swing plane throughout your swing.

Tempo and Rhythm

Good tempo and rhythm are essential to be a consistent striker of the ball. Even if your set-up is perfect and you swing the club head along the correct path, you only play effective golf when your tempo and rhythm are relaxed and smooth.

Most players swing the club too fast in a vain attempt to work up power and distance. To find your natural tempo and rhythm concentrate on swinging the club smoothly. Start with just a half swing. When you achieve a solid and consistent strike move onto a three quarter swing, then the full swing. It is vital that you concentrate on keeping a good tempo and rhythm when playing a round of golf.

Positive Approach

Even though your driver is a distance club, never hit your driver flat out unless you are desperate and willing to take a gamble. The well known phrase that you should swing your driver like a 9 iron is a great piece of advice. Try to swing at about 70% of full power. This will give you the distance you need but more importantly the control needed to consistently find the fairway.

When you stand on the tee it is essential to do all you can to put yourself in a positive frame of mind. How you feel when you step up to the tee can make the difference between a great shot and a disaster.

Make sure you tee the ball up high enough to ensure that the ground doesn't come into play. Select the perfect spot on the teeing area so that you have an even patch of ground and a good foundation for your swing.

Follow these golf tips for better driving and stay on the fairway and get more enjoyment from your game through improved performance.

PGA Golf Tips to Take Your Game to a New Level

PGA Golf Instruction Tips

You can receive a lot of helpful advice from PGA golf instruction either online or by hiring a qualified instructor in your area. The tips you learn go far beyond the basics you probably are already aware of such as keeping a neutral grip, lining up to the ball and keeping your head still. You can find basic advice anywhere, PGA golf instruction is what you turn to when you want to take your game to a whole new level.

Drive Straighter and Farther

One of the main components to hitting your ball farther and straighter is getting a good solid turn in your shoulders. To focus on just your upper body, lay a towel on the ground in the same place you would traditionally stand.

Get on your knees and address the ball. Not turning enough or too much will dig up the grass or you'll hit the top of your ball so it only travels a short distance. When you turn your shoulders the right amount, your ball will fly every single time.

Fixing Your Slice

PGA golf instruction will teach you that you can fix your slice if you make the effort to swing your club on a path that is inside-to-out all the way through impact. In order to do this, your shoulders really need to turn away from the ball on your backswing.

Proper Tee Height

Could the height of your tee be affecting your drive? According to instruction given by PGA professionals, it can! Ideally, half of the ball will be above the club head on impact. If your tee is too high, your ball is likely going to travel high into the air with little distance and a ball placed too low will travel low into the ground. A perfect balance means more distance and accuracy.

Choosing the Right Instruction

While golf tips are always helpful, sometimes you just need in-person golf instruction. So, how do you know who to hire? Well, you should put as much thought into hiring your instructor as you would a doctor, dentist, builder or roofer.

? Accreditation and Experience - There are a lot of individuals who claim to be professionals, make them prove it. An instructor who has really earned their status will have nothing to hide and will be more than thrilled to show you their credentials.

? Compatibility - You need to feel immediately comfortable with your instructor. If they make you nervous or uneasy, you'll be too distracted or focused on them to really address your game.

? Playing Ability - A great golfer is not necessarily a good instructor and some of the best instructors can't break 90. They don't have to necessarily excel on the course but they do have to be able to demonstrate the technique that they are teaching flawlessly.

? References - Don't be afraid to ask for a few references and take the time to contact them. Find out how the person enjoyed working with the instructor, how much their game improved and why they would recommend them.

Whether you need a lot of help with your game or if there's just a few areas that could use addressing, PGA golf instruction takes your game to a more desirable, boast-worthy level.

Golf Drivers - Find The Best Drivers

When it comes to golf drivers, every company will tell you that they have the best golf drivers. The major manufacturers pay big bucks to the top golfers in the world to market their brands. Most amateur golfers are looking to increase their distance. Let's take a look at how this can be done. Then we will think about which are the best drivers that will help you get those extra yards.

One way a golfer can increase his distance in through better ball contact. Hitting the sweet spot will result in longer shots with the same swing speed. Another way to increase distance is to simply swing faster. If you can keep your contact quality the same, the ball will go further. These improvements are usually attained by improving your swing, or by diligent practice.

Another factor that we are learning increases driver distance is the angle of attack at which we swing the club into the ball. Studies, using the advanced launch monitor Trackman Pro, have shown that with a swing speed of 90 mph (average for male amateur players) a change in angle of attack from minus five degrees to plus 5 degrees will increase driver shots by 20 yards or more. Obviously if you hit down on your driver you would want to change this if you can.

You can improve your golf swing by increasing your "golf fitness". You can do drills that strengthen the right muscles allowing you to swing faster. This is the reason you see professional golfers in the fitness room these days. They want to add yards to their drives, and prevent injuries.

The final way to increase distance is your equipment. Once you know your swing, you can then look to optimize your driver to "fit" your swing and produce the longest shots. This requires no work on your golf swing, or any strength training, and in most cases can add quite a few extra yards. This is by far the easiest way to add distance.

There are many things that go into optimizing a driver. The following things all must be accurately measured for the particular player hitting the ball: swing weight, shaft flex, shaft kick point, torque, shaft length, overall club weight, club head (including aerodynamics, center of gravity etc.) and more. Once a swing pattern is established there is always an "optimal". The driver that is optimal for your swing will get you the most distance for your particular swing.

I have always been intrigued by the fact that the players in the Remax Long Drive Championships DO NOT use major manufacturers, such as Calloway, or Titleist, or Ping. Since these players do not receive large endorsements, and every yard is desired out of every swing, you would think these guys use what hits the ball the furthest. And, although we might not need or be able to swing a 50 inch driver, we all need more distance, and I think the clubs these long drivers use are probably the best made for maximizing distance. Instead of the popular named brands, we see the long drivers currently using two main driver companies, Geek and Krank.

Geek and Krank are the leaders in long driver golf equipment. It makes sense to me that most of us regular golfer should be using these types of drivers to add yardage to our swings. You do not have to get a long driver length shaft in these clubs. They can fit you with conventional length shafts so you can benefit from these great clubs. It is only the heavy endorsement by highly paid PGA players that keep us believing that the major manufacturers are building the best drivers. Also remember most PGA players are more interested in control than just more yards because they usually can already hit it far enough. I think the long drivers know better what clubs get the most distance, and we should look to them to find the best golf drivers for adding distance.

2 Tips For Getting Your Putting Back On Track

It's common for many golfers to have good days and bad days on the putting greens. One day you feel like you can make everything you look at and the next day it feels like you've never putted before in your life. When you are having one of those tough days, there are a couple helpful tips that will get you back on track more quickly.

The two tips I recommend to get your game back on track is to focus on your speed and make sure you are putting with your shoulders. The first tip of focusing on your speed will help you in more than one way. When you have a putt, your goal will be to hit the ball the correct speed. This way if you miss your putt, you will have an easy tap in for your next one.

Simply focusing on your speed will automatically allow you to get a better feel for it. You can also make practice putting strokes trying to feel the speed and then copy your practice stroke in your actual stroke. The other way focusing on speed helps you is you will actually have a better chance of making putts this way. When the golf ball is rolling at the right speed, it has almost 3 times as much of a chance of going in the hole. It can die in the cup from either side and it's getting all the way to the hole. Leaving putts short obviously will not allow them to go in. Hitting your putts too hard will not give them much chance of going in either. Sometimes if your line is dead on, you can hit a putt slightly too hard and it'll still go in. But if your putt is hit too hard and it rolls over the right or left edge of the cup, it's probably not going in.

The next tip is to make sure you are using your shoulders to make the putting stroke. The hands arms, and shoulders work together as one unit in the putting stroke. Sometimes a golfer can get overactive with their hands and arms and forget to make a good move with the shoulders. In a proper putting stroke the shoulders make the stroke and the hands and arms just hang on for extra stability and control.

Using the shoulders correctly in this way also helps to eliminate opening or closing of the putter face which can push or pull the putt offline. Too much hand or wrist action can lead to pushing and pulling putts because the face isn't square at impact. The putter face can open and close slightly, but this really happens automatically when you are making a correct move with your shoulders.

Golfers Elbow - Understanding Is the Key to Cure

There are a lot of misconceptions about Golfer's Elbow. Whenever you have an injury there always seems to be heaps of people who are willing to offer you advice. If you are lucky, this advice will be based on their own first-hand experience but it is more likely that their advice is something that they've heard second or third hand, or perhaps even read somewhere. If you are really lucky they will be able to recall verbatim what they have read or heard. If not then they will fill the gaps in their memory with their own misconceptions.

Golfer's Elbow, at first glance, appears no different. However there are two differences, which in fact are related.

Firstly, there are few people who are cured. Instead they find temporary relief or they are hoping that this time it is cured for good.

Secondly there are many people who live in fear of becoming afflicted by Golfer's Elbow. This is related to the first point as there seems to be no cure!

The Good News

The good news is that it can be cured for good! Also if you haven't suffered from Golfer's Elbow yet, then you can ensure that you never do have to suffer.

Even better is that the cure is simple and there is no need to spend vast sums of your hard earned money on physiotherapy, braces or anything else!

The Truth

I expect that by now, you're hoping (or expecting) me to say that you don't need to rest from playing golf, or from whatever activity has caused the injury - that's right, it's not only golfers who suffer, in fact just about anyone is at risk.

I would love to tell you that you can continue to play golf at your current frequency however, the reality is that you are likely to have to stop playing for a brief period - but this will be a brief period. You need to look upon this as an opportunity. Perhaps to watch some instructional videos or to spend time with family or doing all those jobs around the house. You can earn some brownie points for when you are ready to start playing again and you'll need them as when you are cured then you'll be able to play more than ever!

How to go about curing Golfer's Elbow

The cure for Golfer's Elbow is a 4 step process:
reduce the inflammation (which will also reduce the pain)stretchstrengthendiagnose and correct the fault (that caused the condition in the first place)

If any of the 4 steps are ignored then not only are you unlikely to cure your Golfer's Elbow, but the chances of it returning are dramatically increased. Claim your free report on Golfer's Elbow, details are below.

5 Ways To Improve Your Golf Practice Sessions

Practicing your golf swing doesn't make it perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. It's important when you are practicing that you ingrain the positive proper habits so you can develop a swing that is consistent and works all the time. Many golfers struggle with consistency out of the golf course. A big key to playing better golf is learning how to practice correctly when you are out on the driving range hitting balls.

One helpful tip I recommend when you are practicing at the driving range is to put a club down in between the golf ball and your feet and parallel with your target line. Practicing with a club down can help your body and mind start to gauge how to aim correctly. Even though you can't put a club down when you are out on the golf course, simply practicing this way can help you learn how to align without having to think about it. You'll naturally develop a feel of how to align correctly on the golf course without having to think about it.

Working on one thing at a time in your practice sessions can go a long way toward helping your become a better golfer. Many golfers get frustrated with their golf swings on the driving range. They jump from one thing to the next trying to fix their swings. It can be helpful to take a few practice swings working on one part of your technique or capturing a feel to make your swing better. Once you have gotten comfortable with the particular aspect of your swing you are working on, it will become more second nature so you can move onto the next thing.

Focusing on your fundamentals on the driving range will help keep you and your golf swing on track. This begins with your grip and your setup. Ball position in the golf stance, the width of your stance, and your posture in the golf swing setup will all make a significant difference in the quality and consistency of your golf shots. Take time to check your grip, alignment, and setup position before you start trying to fix your golf swing path.

Other helpful things to work on are your swing tempo and your balance. Golfers who hit good golf shots consistently all tend to have good tempo and balance. Golfers who tend to hit errant shots oftentimes have a tempo that is either too fast or too slow. They also may have issues with their balance. Swinging with a good tempo will help you stay balanced in your swing and will help your golf club naturally stay on the proper swing path.

Lastly, while practicing at the driving range it is helpful to always have a target. You want to simulate your practice sessions so they are similar to being on the golf course. Pick a target and change your targets often so you are practicing different shots and swinging different clubs. You don't want to hit 50 or 100 balls with your driver and forget about your other clubs. Mastering your golf swing with all your clubs on the driving range will carry over to the golf course and you'll play more consistent golf.

Golf Putting Tips - Improve Your Putting With Proper Ball Position

When it comes to putting, many amateurs take ball position for granted. They don't recognize the effect that alignment has in making putts. I want to go over a couple of golf putting tips to help you determine the proper ball position for your putting stroke.

Your posture can have a major effect on how well you putt. Your stance should be your first concern when you address the ball.

Many instructors recommend that you stand with your feet about shoulder width apart. If you feel more comfortable with a little narrower or wider stance, this will work too. The point is to have a sturdy, balanced stance that keeps you stable.

It is important to bend at your hips when you address the ball. You don't want to be bending at your back. There is a big difference and will affect your putting.

Try this exercise to get a feel for the difference. Take your shoulders and squeeze then behind you as though you were trying to touch your elbows behind your back. Now bend over the ball as if you are preparing to putt.

Doing this prevents you from using your back to bend over. You now know how it feels when you bend from your hips instead of your back.

While in this position let your arms hang naturally at your side. Bend your elbows slightly. This should feel natural and is the best way to setup to putt.

The next thing is to position your golf ball in the optimum location. The position of the ball will affect the way it rolls on the green. I have found that the best position is when the ball is directly under my eyes. This allows me to be able to peer directly down the path that I want the ball to travel when it leaves the putter.

In addition to having the ball aligned with your eyes, you need to have the ball positioned within your stance so that the face of the putter will strike the ball at the bottom of the pendulum of your swing. This is going to happen in about the middle of your stance.

Place your putter in the middle of your stance, front to back, and then place the ball directly in front of the putter. As you will see, the ball will be about 1 inch or so forward of your center position.

Your body and ball are now in the correct position to allow for a simple repeatable putting stroke.

Give these golf putting tips a try. I know you will see improvement the next time you play.

Putting Stroke: Can Your Yips Be Fixed?

Your putting stroke might be the most important part of your game - it sure has been for the great champions like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. But, when you lose your putting stroke, your game will seem like it will never recover again. Though most do not simply forget how to putt overnight, the putting stroke yips can make you feel like you have.

The yips are a problem - much like the shanks - that can be the nightmare for golfers of every level. They have afflicted some of the best professionals around the world - such as Tom Watson or Ben Hogan - and they have sounded the death knell of the games of amateurs and resort golfers around the world.

Like the other types of yips, the putting stroke yips are a rare and odd occurrence in the worlds of sports and the world of golf. But, when a person comes down with the putting yips, it can be a difficult process to figure out the ways to relieve yourself from the burdens of shattered confidence and a crumbling putting stroke.

When you have the putting stroke yips, you will likely find yourself flailing at the ball, freezing up over each putt. Your hands might be shaking, and you might find the club stabbing and jabbing at the ball in front of you. This problem is caused by psychological trauma that has likely occurred on the golf course, and when this trauma overtakes you, you might find it impossible to make the shots that you have always known how to make.

The putting stroke yips cannot be cured simply by changing your game. You cannot get rid of the shakes or the stabbing motion by adopting a belly putter or a brand new stance. It won't work to change your hands or to bend your knees a little more. No, the problem can only be cured when you address the psychological problem itself.

The putting stroke yips are stemmed from this psychological and mental trauma, and when you come down with this nervous condition, it is up to you to make the mental changes not the physical changes.

The mental changes will be much more difficult to find than the normal physical changes. Not all coaches, teaching pros or sports instructors and psychologists are equipped with the ability to deal with these changes. You need to find the right professionals with the right methods to remove the golfing yips. Not everyone will have the right methods to restore your game, and it will be a tricky process as you are attempting to dive into the changes that have to be made with your game.

There is, however, help to be found, and you can find this help from a number of different sources. When finding the help you need, you will see your game returning to you and your stroke rolling smoother than it ever has before.

Dr. Tom Hanson specializes in removing the root cause of the yips so players are free to enjoy their game using the grip of their choice! Dr. Hanson's past coaching clients include the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Microsoft, Verizon, and American Express. Watch FREE golf yips cure videos at http://www.yipsbegone.com/.

How To Hit The Golf Ball Farther With Less Effort

Trying to swing your golf club too fast or with too much effort can cause errant, inconsistent golf shots. There are a few helpful things you can do in your golf swing to gain more consistency, have better ball striking, and hit the ball farther. Implementing proper technique and fundamentals into your golf swing will go a long way in helping you gain more power with less effort.

The first problem I notice with many golfers who try too hard is they are way too tense in their setup and in their golf swing. In the setup position, the arms should hang down and be extended but it is important not to lock the elbows. Keeping the arms extended but flexible in this way will allow for a freer motion with your swing and you'll actually be able to hit the ball farther. Tension is a killer and you'll end up developing more bad habits in your swing if you aren't relaxed enough.

The next issue that can come up and cause a loss of power is swinging too fast on the backswing. When the golf swing is rushed in the backswing, it is inevitable that the club must slow down when it is coming in to hit the golf ball. Ideally, the club head should be speeding up as it approaches the ball so the maximum amount of power can be unleashed to the golf ball at impact.

Sometimes when a golfer tries to swing too hard, they end up having too much body movement. They can lose their angles and good body position in the golf swing from moving too much. To hit the ball consistently, it's important to have a compact golf swing that is simple. The more solidly you strike the golf ball, the farther it will go. You want to maintain the same good posture and good angles in your golf swing from your setup. Once you have a proper setup, you then simply swing and turn while maintaining those same angles. Trying too hard to get extra power or hit the ball farther can cause you to lose these angles. The spine angle should be the same at impact as it was in setup. The spine angle should also be the same at the top of the swing. Changing your angles by moving too much makes it quite difficult to get the club back to the ball in the same spot you addressed it.

Another mistake I see many golfers make is they try to steer or guide the golf club too much in an effort to hit it better. It is called a golf swing because that's exactly what it is. It's a swing which is a dynamic motion. Trying to put or force the golf club into the proper positions is not helpful and I don't recommend this. Sometimes when a golfer is working on trying to improve their swing, this can happen without even being aware of it. It's okay to work on technique in your swing, but just make sure you are combining proper technique with a smooth swinging motion.

The US Open Tournament Returns

Golf fans around the world rejoice; The U.S. Open is almost here. The U.S. Open, one of golf's major tournaments, begins on June 16th. If this year's tournament is anything like the last, in which Irishman Graeme McDowell edged out the competition to beat fan favorites Ernie Els, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, making him the first Irishman to accomplish that feat in the history of the tournament, it will be an exhilarating one.

Since last year's U.S. Open took place at one of the most famous golf courses in the world, Pebble Beach, this year's course at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland has a lot to live up to. The last time the Open was played at Congressional Country Club was in 1997, when Ernie Els took home his second championship.

Each year the U.S. Open provides a lot of drama and heartache as players from around the world struggle to become one of golf's elite. The U.S. Open comes with a purse of 7,500,000 dollars and a reputation that is worth far greater. The last U.S. Open winner immediately appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and had a cameo on the hit television show Entourage.

Current frontrunners for the competition are Ernie Els, due to how he played in the previous U.S. Open, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Wood. Tiger had a recent setback with an injury at The Player's Championship, and many wonder if he can perform as well as he did at The Masters to prove competitive. Yet, superstars frequently show their worth during major championships when all eyes are pointed toward them, so none of the critics and fellow golfers are counting Tiger out.

Yet, hot on his heels is always Phil Mickelson, known commonly as "Leftie" due to the fact that he's one of the only golfers on the tour that plays left handed. Although Phil has won three Master's tournaments and one PGA Championship, he has yet to win a U.S. Open. Many critics are noting that this might be the year that the "leftie" comes out on top.

Whoever the champion, golf fans around the world are hoping for a close, heavily contested match with a lot of drama and suspense. Last year's excellent match set a precedent for this year's tournament, and whichever golf star is your favorite, all golf fans could probably agree that they're looking forward to a match that is equally as competitive this year.

John Casson is a writer and editor of golf in the Imagine Sports Network. He has written in both print and on the web on golf news. He has attended numerous golf tournaments including the US Open and The Masters has grown up loving the sport.

An Electric Golf Trolley Takes the Strain Out of Golf

You don't have to spend hours down at the gym pumping iron and looking a bit daft on a running machine to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As we get older maintaining our physical fitness and health becomes increasingly important. While some people enjoy a workout in the gym, there are a lot of us who find the thought of spending a couple of hours surrounded by the uber-fit and the uber-sweaty off-putting to say the least. Golf on the other hand has a more genteel reputation, but can hardly be considered a good work-out. Or can it? Studies have shown that golf is an excellent form of 'moderate intensity exercise' for the middle-aged and is considered 'high intensity' for older competitors. It has additional health benefits that included promoting healthy sleep - not on the course obviously - and as an outdoor pursuit it increases our exposure to the sun and promotes production of vital vitamin D. Balance, coordination, muscle strength and suppleness are all intrinsic parts of the game. Even lifting that bag full of heavy irons can provide a bit of weight lifting practice.

OK, the heavy golf bag is one of the downsides to golfing. Pumping iron is not a favourite sport amongst the more mature, though pumping irons is an ever popular way to stay healthy! Golf itself requires considerable physical stamina and the weight of golfing equipment can create strain and wear on muscles that can affect your game, or even in more serious cases the ability to play. These sorts of problems are something to be wary of whatever your age, for older players having the right equipment to avoid back and muscle problems is even more important. In terms of sports injuries, golf will not see you laid up for months at a time with a minor sprain, like an international footballer. However, unnecessary strain on wrist, shoulders and back can be painful and inconvenient. They can also lead to a drop in your level of activity and whatever your age this will impact negatively on your health.

This is where finding a good golf trolley can make all the difference to your game and your health. Electric golf trolleys are increasingly popular and there are a number of well-known brands on the market. The best known brands have few differences to the lesser known electric golf trolleys available on the market, the main one being their cost. In terms of health benefits there is very little difference between the brand name and more cost effective models. For any older player who enjoys regular games as not only a recreational and social pursuit, but to stay healthy, using a good quality golf trolley is a sensible investment. Excessive strain on knees, joints and muscles will affect not only your general ability to stay active, but decrease your enjoyment of the game and affect your performance. By the same token if you have recently had any major health treatment, getting back outdoors and exercising moderately will normally aid your recovery - but you may not be in a position to drag heavy equipment several miles around your favourite course. Investing in an electric golf trolley will get you back in the game, hopefully back to your original handicap or better, quickly.

Improve Golf Handicap With Mental Training

The power of the mind is unlimited. And we are told that we do not use the full capacity of our mental abilities which we are able to tap into at our will. If you have not experienced it as yet, you can lower your golf handicap with mental training.

The question is how?

Not all golf instructors include mental training in their courses. It should be a part of golf instruction to improve any part of a golf game. Locate a mental trainer. This type of training is valuable for you and for your game.

Many of us have taken courses in positive thinking and how to apply it. But, this form of trying to tap into the mind has not worked for many of us.

With my experiences as an entertainer and my college training in psychology, it is realized how important it is for the brain to be programmed with correct information and for the body to be programmed with correct physical indoctrination with workable techniques.

Golf basics are needed, but the next major obstacle to refine is our individual thinking and mental techniques of focusing and concentrating. In order to play an outstanding golf game.

Do not be:

Negative in your thinkingBe self doubting of your abilitiesIgnorant of how to play golfWhen negative in your thinking you will weaken your abilities to focus and concentrate on the task at hand.If self doubting, you will defeat mental and physical capabilities to accomplish your swings or to hit the target.Ignorance never advances anyone. Do understand how to play golf. Know your golf clubs, types of swings, golf terminology, scoring and all that matters in this game.

As you improve your physical abilities of strength and flexibility and training for mental focusing and concentration you will also learn how to control tension or anxiety.

Recall any athletic or performing event you may have participated. Do you remember how nervous, anxious, or tense you became?

Your athletic coach or your theatre instructor scheduled practices or rehearsals and errors were corrected immediately. Once you were on the batter's mound or you heard your stage cue you discovered that you were completely relaxed, focused and performed without a flaw.

Think about it. You were both physically and mentally trained for the event. It is no different in golf. Mental preparation with physical preparedness equals success to lower your golf handicap.

Golf Strategies and Tips - Putting

"Drive for show, putt for dough" may be the lesson we've all seen and learned from watching professional golfers in most tournaments and championships. The masters of golf can drive a ball from here to eternity, however it all boils down to the number of strikes of the ball it requires to place the ball within the hole. The lengthy accurate drives don't add up to anything if you're not able to putt precisely.

Selecting the right putter is essential, but using whatever putter you've consistently got results from is much more. I've had the same putter for 15 years I understand what it really feels like in my hands, I understand the weight and just how that plays into my putts.

Putting takes plenty of practice. Typically, we drive the ball 18 occasions in a game, but putt a minimum of double that number. Doesn't it stand that people should practice putting a minimum of two times more than driving? If you can't practice regularly,on a course, then practice on your carpet in your own home. Bear in mind that no ball makes it in to the hole if it does not have enough energy behind the ball to reach there. Take time to get lower and check out the track of your ball towards the hole. Will it slant one of the ways or another? Could it be uphill or downhill?

Stand with your feet spread for balance and in line for the putt. Keep your hands, arms and shoulders completely still however, you move from just beneath your chest. Keep the mind directly on the ball. Pull one of your clubs back, keep both hands, arms and shoulders steady-the movement originates from your chest. Hit the ball, following through with your club. Learn from each putt and remember the lesson.

Practice, practice, practice!

A Word About Putters

Golf putting is both a skill along with a SCIENCE. The skill of golf putting takes a visualization or proper "read' from the slope and grain along with a feel for that distance from the putt. The kind of golf putter you select is dependent on which type works well with you and also which inserts your physical framework. You will find many important points to consider when you're selecting a golf putter. One thing to think about is face balancing.

You are able to choose from two kinds of putters, either individuals which are face balanced or individuals which are foot balanced. The face area balanced putters are individuals which have their face pointed upwards whenever you balance the shaft. Foot-balanced putters are individuals which have a foot pointed toward the floor when it's balanced about the shaft making use of your finger.

Analyze Your Swing With a Golf Simulator

Whenever you initially begin playing golf you could find that striking the actual golf ball in a straight line is significantly more difficult than you would imagine. All things considered, you're whacking a tiny ball with a long stick supposedly in a directed and accurate manner!

Let's consider the chances of carrying out that together with virtually any measure of precision? Not necessarily great. At the very least certainly not without help.

Brand new players sooner or later realize that the actual golf ball isn't going to constantly travel to wherever they need it to travel to. Many people discover that the sole way to get pleasure from the sport is usually to merely keep the ball within play. Generally meaning relaxing in addition to not striking the ball so hard

The bane of every new Golf player is the much feared slice Just about any person that hits a ball moderately hard is likely to experience a propensity to "slice" the actual golf ball until eventually these people discover ways to prevent it. It's an amazingly widespread issue how the slice is merely 2nd nature for many people.

The "slice" is really just a golf shot which bends out from the player. A right-handed golf player it goes off to the right and left-handed golfers a slice to the left.

Practically every occasion a person strikes a ball using a golf club there is rotational energy put on the golf ball. Top spin occurs when the upper part of the ball is rotating away from you and is going to give you a dropping shot. Bottom spin is when the lower part on the golf ball is rotating in your direction and will lead to a climbing shot.

However lateral rotation be it either left or right can cause the golf ball to bend sometimes to the left or right. Similarly a right-handed player with clockwise spin is likely to slice the ball off to the right and equally for a left-handed player it will slice to the left.

Newbie golf players prefer to steer clear of this type of unwanted side spin whenever appropriate, since it causes it to become considerably more challenging to command the path the actual golf ball travels. And even more importantly it translates into a considerable decrease in range.

In order to remedy the predisposition that will put side spin on your golf ball it can help to be aware what triggers the situation. A slice generally occurs due to the fact the actual golf club face isn't hitting the ball straight on as well as in a straight line. They are in fact a couple of distinct issues both the direction of the golf club face, as well as the incline of the club face whenever it hits the ball.

It will help to picture what goes on once the golf club head hits the ball. Picture the golf club head going on a course right down your planned target and envision that your club face is tilted a little bit off to the right as it hits the golf ball. Even though the ball will probably travel pretty much directly from the club face, it will likely be rotating in a clockwise path and the outcome will certainly be a bending slice off to the right.

Correcting a lot of these types of golf swing flaws is definitely not straightforward. Truly seasoned golf players frequently experience a hard time picturing their own golf swing. Many people believe they are usually executing one particular movement however these people happen to be performing their perceived swing in a totally incorrect way.

That's the key reason for having a coach or perhaps a proficient pal observe while you perform your golf swing motion, which will likely be beneficial. Recording yourself during your golf swing might likewise enable you to view precisely what is actually occurring. It's definitely not uncommon for a person that watches their own golf swing for the very first occasion on TV to be very surprised at how awkward it looks.

However, viewing a video clip with your own golf swing wont benefit significantly if you really don't recognize just what you are on the lookout for. Not to mention that even in the event that the footage is of pretty good caliber and filmed via the exact perspective, it will still be problematic to view factors such as the route of the golf club head as well as the incline of the golf club face on contact with the ball.

Not having these fine details it is going to be challenging to recognize what exactly to develop which is precisely why a golf simulator will certainly become such a beneficial system for repairing standard golf swing concerns and particularly your predisposition to slicing your ball.

Golf simulators are equally a kind of computer game as well as a golf swing action analyzer. You actually hit a genuine golf ball along with actual golf clubs, the same way an individual may on a true golf course. However in this unique scenario a person strikes the golf ball off of a specialized mat and straight into netting or even, in many instances, a unique projector display screen.

Employed as a golf swing analyzer a golf simulator will certainly demonstrate points in which it is virtually unachievable to be aware of in any other manner. A sequence of receptors in the mat detect factors like club head velocity, swing path approach and club face incline at the very point you strike the ball.

Those are a few of the many essential elements that establish the distance and direction your golf ball will travel whenever it is hit by your club. Subsequent to examining your own golf swing the program converts all these components directly onto a projection of exactly what your shot would really look like in reality.

However perhaps even more significant, the Golf simulator provides you with immediate feedback about your golf swing trajectory and the angle of your club face at the point of impact. Just as you`ve discovered, these happen to be the typical reasons for slicing your shot.

Assuming anyone is determined with regards to solving their slice problem, now there is no question that evaluating your swing technique is actually the most effective point to begin. Not to mention that there is simply no more efficient approach to be able to obtain a precise and beneficial golf swing evaluation than by using a golf simulator.

Employing a golf simulator is an excellent approach to solve your golf swing problems. To find out more information simply follow this link http://www.cheapgolfclubstore.com/

Why Does My Golf Ball Go Left When I Swing Harder?

In order to hit the golf ball farther, we have to hit it harder. There are a few other things that count, too, but hard hits are vital to get distance. The problem for many recreational golfers is that trying to hit the ball harder leads to wilder shots. A ball that goes left is a common problem. Here's why it happens and what to do about it.

1. Golfers feel they can hit the ball harder by playing the ball more forward in their stance than normal, so the body can swing around and hit the ball hard from behind.

Remember that when the club comes through the ball, it's traveling on an arc, not on a straight line. The farther the club moves beyond the center of the stance, the more of a leftward direction it is moving in. The clubface is also changing its orientation, from square to left-facing as it travels past the center of the stance. Both conditions would cause an otherwise perfectly struck ball to go left.

2. Virtually every golfer plays with their dominant, and strongest, hand trailing the swing. This is the power side, the one you rely on to deliver your maximum strength. When a right-handed golfer tries to hit the ball hard, the right arm can take over the swing and overpower the left arm. The right hand lurches over the top of the left hand, turning the club counterclockwise, closing the clubface, and the ball goes left.

3. Getting back to the problem in number 1., trying to stay behind the ball, if you don't get your weight back to the left side on the downswing, but keep it right so you can hit the ball from behind, that will cause your swing to lurch to the left almost every time.

So how do you hit the ball harder and still hit it straight? While you have to swing harder, that alone is not enough. The primary requirement is that you hit the ball on the center of the clubface, with a square clubface. In that way, the maximum energy of your swing will be imparted to the ball. Only after you have mastered this can you think about hitting harder.

Practice with your wedges the feeling of giving a square, centered hit to the ball. It's not hard to do with these clubs, mainly because you aren't trying to hit them hard. Now hit the longer clubs with the same feeling of the square, centered hit.

When you start making ideal contact, that in itself will get you more distance, and straight. Gradually speed up your controlled swing to start adding on the yards to your laser-straight shots.

From Golf Lessons to Artwork - Golf Gifts That Work

If you're looking for a fantastic gift for your golfing friend or spouse, there are some items that make perfect gifts and others that you should avoid. This article will discuss some golf gift and collectible ideas and also go over some items that you should avoid.

Golf Collectibles

Golf collectibles can make your office or basement feel like your still at the club house. There's nothing like a beautiful painting or special item that tells a golf story. A great gift for someone interested in golf collectibles would be a logo golf ball. For some, buying a new logo ball each time there is an opportunity can make for a very special collection over time. Any time you visit a new course, pick up a logo ball at the pro shop. Of course, you wouldn't do this at a local municipal course, but at courses that are more than just ordinary. A collection of 100+ golf balls in a handsome wooden case, mounted on the wall can make a fantastic addition to the d?cor of any office or recreational room. Think how special it will be with golf balls from such places as Pinehurst, TPC Sugarbush, Avenel, Congressional, Pebble Beach and more.

Art Golf Collectibles

There's nothing like a print or painting that tells the story of a famous golf championship. Like perhaps an oil depicting Nicklaus and Palmer walking onto number 18 at Oakmont at the 1962 US Open. Or how about Tom Watson's 71st hole chip in that would win the 82' Open at Pebble Beach? Paintings and framed photos are always an excellent option because there is such a wide variety of price points and appearances.

For a twist on this, a good idea would be to take a picture of the person receiving the gift and have it framed as a collectible piece. If the person you're shopping for has ever competed in any golf events, or even better, if he has won, getting the news articles from local papers or printing off pages of web site news stories and having them framed up for posterity is an excellent option.

Golf Gadgets and Tools

Buying golf gifts or gadgets can be tricky because most golfers - men and women - can be very particular about their equipment. There are, however, some items that everybody would love to have. Gadgets like laser yardage scopes, digital course books and even pro shop gift cards all make fantastic gifts. Other less expensive options would include divot tools or embroidered bag towels. These are easy to find, inexpensive and items that every golfer can use.

Golf Lessons

No matter how advanced your golfing spouse is, a series of golf lessons is always a possibility. Beyond just a one on one session with a pro, there are some types of golf lessons that make more sense. For example, Ping has a mobile club fitting service, where representatives from Ping will put you through a series of sizing and swing analysis tests and send you away with the perfect club specifications based on your personal ability, swing and style.

Even some golf ball manufacturers have analysis and testing to identify which golf ball will work best!

Golf Gifts to Avoid

Generally, it is best to avoid items that can only be chosen by the golfer. Your instinct may be telling you that a beautiful Scotty Cameron putter would make a great gift, but putters - and all clubs - are very personal choices and should only be made by the golfer himself. The same can be said for golf bags and even push carts. Let your golfer choose these items for himself, or buy a gift card instead and include a picture of the item you "suggest" for him.

When you're looking for a golf gift or a golf collectible, use these guidelines and you'll be giving a gift that your golfer friend or spouse will be sure to love. Find the golf collectibles that will add a touch of class and comfort to your surroundings, or at least help your golfing significant other stay focused on what's important...getting a great golf score!

10 Tips to Help Improve Your Golf Game

Top 10 Golf Tips

Regardless if you're new to the game or if you consider yourself a seasoned player, a few helpful golf tips will always come in handy. No one is born with a club in their hand and very few players will actually say that golfing comes natural for them, unless they just don't want anyone to know how hard they actually worked to get to their playing level. Golf takes time, practice and patience and it certainly is a game where there is always something new to learn. Below are the top 10 tips for golf that can be applied to any game.

1. Neutral Grip - This has to be one of the most important things to learn in the game of golf. If you hold your club too tight or too loose, your ball has a very slim chance of actually traveling straight. A neutral grip is something you can work on even when you're at home. Ideally, your hands will just connect your club to your arms without having an effect on your swing.

2. Keep Your Head Still - Most people will tell you to keep your eye on the ball and while that is fairly sound advice, you can still move your head while looking at the ball. Even the smallest movement will alter your swing and influence the direction of where your ball travels. Your head is a pivot point that remains stationary, even when the rest of your body turns.

3. Evaluate Your Posture - Surely your parents told you to stand up straight a time or two? Could it be that they were helping to prepare you to become a better golfer? If you have sloppy posture, rounded shoulders and a weak frame, you are going to struggle with your game no matter how often you practice. Ideally, your chest will be dropped, not due to slouching over but because your pelvis is tilted upward. Make a point to become more conscious of your posture throughout the day.

4. Keep Your Balance - Yoga for golfers? If you haven't heard of the benefits, it just hasn't caught on in your area yet. You don't have to enroll in yoga classes to fix your balance issues when you swing the club. Taking a few minutes out of your day to do a few poses at home will go a long way. They will even help with your posture and your mental game as well.

5. Practice with all of Your Clubs - It can be tempting to only practice with your favorite driver when you're at the range but what are you going to do with the rest of your game? Your drive will only get you so far, at some point you're going to have to practice your short game and putting as well.

6. Don't Slow Down - A shocking number of golfers have the habit of slowing down before they make contact with the ball. Why? The ball is not going to explode on contact from your powerful swing. You have to finish your entire swing to create an arc or your ball won't get enough air to get much distance.

7. Align Your Body Properly - How your body is lined up in relation to the ball and your target is crucial. This is one of those golf tips that really requires a lot of practice. Your body should be square and parallel to the ball yet lined up just to the left of your target.

8. Fluid Club Movement - From the takeaway to the backswing through the downswing and to the follow through, the movement should be fluid and graceful. Have someone record your swing for you on your phone and evaluate the movement. Does it look awkward or bumpy? It certainly shouldn't.

9. Learn to Read the Green - If you're racking up strokes every time you get to the green, your putting may not be your whole problem. The slope and distance play huge roles but so does the time of day. Is the grass wet from morning dew or from being watered? If so, the ball will roll a lot slower.

10. Lead with Your Hips - You don't get the power for those long drives from your arms, in a proper golf swing it actually comes from the hips. Your hips start your downswing which changes your weight distribution and the rest of your body follows behind.

Golf tips will only get you so far, you need to practice and address any issues you have with your technique. It can be uncomfortable to change things sometimes but if you practice the wrong way every day, all you're doing is reinforcing your bad habits.
